Porsche 996 GT2 Turbo 3.6L Manual

Model Year: 2002 Miles: 32,000 RHD with an impressive 462bhp

A fantastic example of the 911 (996) GT2, built in 2002. The 996 GT2 was really the last of the 911 type that went without the majority of driver aids - it simply came with ABS, no traction control, no four wheel drive and a very impressive 462bhp - this combination has earnt it the nickname by some of "the widow-maker".

Finished in Basalt Black with a matching Black Leather interior - it was originally delivered in August 2002 by Archibald Motors who are the Porsche main agent for Christchurch, New Zealand. It's factory options, according to the Certificate of Authenticity we have on file, include coloured wheel centres; top tint windscreen; centre console; Porsche CDR 220 CD; Sports Seats; Porsche Crest embossed to the headrest. This is of course on top of the standard specification list for the model including the revised suspension and amazing Porsche Carbon Ceramic Braking System.

The car is presented in excellent condition both inside and out, it was brought back to the UK in 2015 and immediately went to the well-respected specialist for a major service, at this time it was displaying 29,282 miles. Following our purchase of the vehicle we have taken it to trusted local Porsche Service centre.

Porsche 996 Turbo S 2004 3.6L Manual RHD Basalt Black

40,586 Miles . 3.6L Flat-Six . Black interior

  • This 996-era Porsche 911 Turbo S is a particularly well-kept example of the rewarding all-season supercar, offered from long-term ownership, and with modest mileage from new.
  • Under the rear lid sits a twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre ‘Mezger’ flat-six, delivering up to 444bhp to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.
  • This original UK-market example has been with the seller and sixth owner for 10 and a half years.
  • The odometer shows a modest 40,586 miles from new, which is supported by an extensive, well-documented Porsche main dealer and marque specialist maintenance history.
  • This Turbo S is understood to be one of just 1,563 right-hand drive examples produced, and one of only 60 UK-market models.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES

  • Improving upon the already impressive ‘standard’ Turbo, the 911 Turbo S featured the X50 Powerkit, which consisted of larger turbochargers, uprated intercoolers, and a revised ECU, as well as coming equipped with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) as standard.
  • This example is finished in the timeless combination of Basalt Black Metallic over a black leather-trimmed interior, featuring ‘hard-back’ front sports seats, perforated seat inserts, contrasting red seat belts, and silver trim accents.
  • It rides on the factory-fitted 18-inch BBS ‘Sport Techno’ alloy wheels, framing yellow Porsche-branded callipers, and shod in Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.
  • The factory specification includes a short-shift gear lever, headlamp washers, rear parking sensors, a rear windscreen wiper, a three-spoke steering wheel, white dials, automatic climate control, Porsche Stability Management, a PCM media system with satellite navigation and a 6-disc CD multichanger in the ‘frunk’, an electrically operated

MODEL HISTORY & PRODUCTION
The first Porsche 356 rolled off the production line in Stuttgart in 1950. Production ran until 1965 when manufacturing ceased, by which time over 76,000 examples of various model designations had been produced.

It was Porsche’s first production vehicle, with an evolution starting with the Pre-A, the 356A introduced in 1955, the 356B in late 1959, and the final series 356C introduced for the 1964 model year. In each form, they were built predominantly as either Coupe or Cabriolets. Although several variations were available as ‘Notchback Coupes’ or ‘Speedster and Roadster Convertibles’. Also available in limited numbers was the four-cam racing ‘Carrera’ version introduced in 1954.

The 356 was created by Ferdinand ‘Ferry’ Porsche (son of Ferdinand Porsche – company founder). In 1972, during a PCA magazine interview, he summarises his thinking behind the concept as: “I had always driven very speedy cars. I had an Alfa Romeo, also a BMW, and others... By the end of the war, I had a Volkswagen Cabriolet with a supercharged engine, and that was the basic idea. I saw that if you had enough power in a small car, it is nicer to drive than if you have a big car which is also overpowered. And it is more fun. On this basic idea, we started the first Porsche prototype.”

This lightweight approach quickly gained the 356 its popularity, and combined with its power-weight ratio, the rear-engined layout, nimble handling, and excellent build quality gave the 356 a proper driver appeal – a proven formula that also provided a class win at Le Mans in 1951. Power outputs varied between 40hp and 70hp depending on the displacement (1100cc, 1300cc or 1500cc) through to 112hp for the Carrera versions.

The Pre-A or ‘prototype’ Austrian built 356s were aluminium bodied, but when manufacturing moved to Germany, Porsche contracted Reutter to manufacture the bodies in steel, and eventually bought the company in 1963. Reutter retained the seat manufacturing sector of their business, but later changed their name to Recaro – forming the company we’re much more familiar with today.

In October 1964, the 356’s successor, the iconic 911 made its debut – but its enduring popularity ensured production continued well into 1965.

There is something special about a 1972 Porsche 911. The entire model year lineup all had the famous mechanical fuel injection and the one-year-only side oil door. It was also the first year displacement bumped to 2.4 liters. As the market continues to grow for “long-hood” 911s, the 1972 model is quickly becoming the most desirable.

Production date: 08/27/1971 . VIN: 9112110170 . Engine: 6120488 . Transmission: 320438

Complete with Certificate of Authenticity and complete matching numbers car.
Has a UK MOT which expires June 15th 2015.

Exterior Color : Light Ivory w/ black top,
Interior: Black Leatherette w/ corduroy inserts

#170 of 1,821 built for a special market, Only the USA version had MFI like the E model, thus Porsche’s designation as a T/E model. The RoW cars were carbureted.

This very original numbers matching early long hood 911 has been well serviced and cared for since new. Complete with a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche.

It was built as a US Spec. model and optioned with stabilizer bars, a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio, Tinted Glass windshield, side glass, rear window, and the Comfort Package, 15" alloy wheels, "S" bumper trim, "S" appearance trim, "S" gauges (voltage & oil pressure), a more strident "highway" horn, bright-metal rocker-panel trim, "Porsche" deck lid script, velour carpeting, a leather-covered steering wheel, bright interior dash trim w/ matching rocker kick plate, and Bosch fog lights.

Re-built to the original standard colour Light Ivory paint work (colour code 1110), with black interior and folding targa top. It received a complete top end rebuild at 95k. miles, including updated turbo tensioners, new valves, chains, rails & guides.

Replacement transmission seals, the engine rear main seal, clutch, and transmission syncro's. The car Just completed a glass out, trim off full repaint in its original Light Ivory color, and has been installed all the new seals and deco trim, rebuilding of the targa top, and polishing of a few trim pieces.

The interior has also been restored, which only required replacing the German velour carpets, a few re-tucks of the original interior panels, and rebuilding of the seat hinge plates with new hardware. All the 2.0 to 2.4 liter 911's are reliable performers, but the 1972 was the first year for the new 915 transmission, it also had the MFI from the E model, and was the only year with the oil fill door on the right rear fender..... quite endearing to most Porschephiles!

In the drop box link you can see a few pictures requested of the special factory "jeweled" bright work interior dash trim and rocker scuff plates. Also a better picture of the radio door jamb and seat hinges.

Porsche made its first and most significant upgrades to the 930 for 1978, enlarging the engine to 3.3 litres and adding an air-to-air intercooler. By cooling the pressurized air charge, the intercooler helped increase power output to 300 hp, the rear 'whale tail' spoiler was re-profiled and raised slightly to make room for the intercooler. Porsche also upgraded the brakes to units similar to those used on the 917 racecar.

Porsche 911 1985 3.2L with 1973 RS look

Chassis Numbe: WPOZZZ91ZES10xxxx . Odometer reading: 111,000 miles

The RS was built so that Porsche could enter racing formulae that demanded that a certain minimum number of production cars were made. Compared with a standard 911S, the Carrera 2.7 RS had a larger engine (2687cc) developing 210hp, revised and stiffened suspension, a 'ducktail' rear spoiler, larger brakes, wider rear wheels and rear bumpers. The image of the white car with coloured script along its flanks has seamlessly passed into motoring legend and has itself been used as a marketing tool by Porsche for many of its later lightweight cars. Performance aside, it is the image and styling that made the Carrera RS the success story that it is today and it is that image that is offered now. But more than that, it is coupled with a far more drivable Porsche underneath, with a bigger engine, a more comfortable ride and a few more creature comforts.

PORSCHE 911 30L SC Flatnose / Flachbau ("Slantnose") (935 Turbo SSE Look) COUPE (1979) LHD

CHASSIS / VIN 9119200xxx . Speedo shows 118080* miles

The Engine power is fantastic and the 915 gear box is smooth in all gears. In May 2012 less than 102 miles ago the vehicle & engine had $6500.00 spent on it.  The pop-up headlamps all work and the body is rust free.

This is an original steel wings body conversion, professionally done in the USA. The interior is a contrasting red and black finish.

This 1979 Porsche 911SC was modified into a "Flachbau" ("slantnose") this type of modification was first offered by Porsche for their 930 Turbo under a special program since 1981. The front end was restyled after the racing 935s. According to some sources, Porsche built 948 units.

The history behind this type of conversion is made famous by Camillo & Domenico Scaduto of Carrozzeria Italia at their restoration shop in Escondido, California. Domenico Scaduto and his son Camillo Scaduto handcrafted the "Flachbau" as Porsche did with steel fenders before the advent of lesser quality fiberglassed modifications by other shops. Yet, over the years, they were able to build 87 units in Southern California before the style faded.

In connection with two catalytic converters and an on-board-diagnostics-system including four oxygen-sensors, it also made the 993 Turbo the cleanest sports car at its time. The Turbo's bodywork differs from the Carrera body by widened rear wheel arches (approximately 6 cm), redesigned front and rear bumper moldings, and a fixed rear wing housing the intercoolers. New 18-inch (460 mm) alloy wheels with weight-reducing hollow spokes were standard.
