944 1982-1991

The Porsche 944, crafted by the German automaker Porsche, graced the roads from 1982 to 1991 as a distinguished sports car. 

Positioned as a mid-level model, it boasted a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration, built upon the revered 924 platform. Available in both coupe and cabriolet variations, drivers had the choice between naturally aspirated or turbocharged engines to suit their performance preferences. With an impressive production tally surpassing 163,000 units, the 944 claimed the title of Porsche's most triumphant sports car until the advent of the Boxster and 997 Carrera models.

As the 1992 model year approached, Porsche underwent significant design enhancements, prompting a renaming of the iconic 944 to the 968. This transition marked a new chapter in Porsche's legacy, as the 968 sought to uphold the esteemed lineage of its predecessor while embracing the demands of evolving automotive standards.
