Unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show on March 1st, the 911 R shares many components with the GT3 RS but distinguishes itself by omitting the roll cage, rear wing, and associated bodywork, resulting in a weight reduction of 50kg (110lb). Exclusively available with a 6-speed manual transmission, the 911 R boasts a top speed of 323 km/h (201 mph), attributed to its lower drag coefficient compared to the GT3 RS. It offers additional customization options such as a lighter flywheel and the removal of air conditioning and audio systems. Limited to a production run of 991 units, all as 2016 models.
