991 GT3 RS 4.0L (500Bhp)

Porsche unveiled the RS variant of the 991 GT3 at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015. Distinguishing features include louvers above the front fenders and intakes borrowed from the 911 Turbo integrated into the rear fenders, replacing the previous intake below the rear wing. The roof is crafted from magnesium for weight reduction.

Inside, the RS model boasts full bucket seats inspired by the carbon seats of the 918 Spyder, carbon-fiber inserts, lightweight door handles, and the Club Sport Package as standard, featuring a bolted-on roll cage behind the front seats, preparation for a battery master switch, and a six-point safety harness for the driver, along with a fire extinguisher with mounting bracket.

Under the hood, the 3.8ltr engine of the 991 GT3 is replaced with a more potent 4.0ltr unit, delivering a maximum power output of 500PS (368kW; 493hp) and 339 lb⋅ft (460 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted solely through the PDK transmission. Acceleration figures include a sprint from 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in just 3.3 seconds, shaving off 0.6 seconds compared to the 997 GT3 RS 4.0, and a 0–200 km/h (0–124 mph) time of 10.9 seconds.

The 991 GT3 RS is equipped with advanced features such as declutching by "paddle neutral" – akin to engaging the clutch in a manual gearbox – and a Pit Speed limiter button. It also inherits rear-axle steering and the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system with a fully variable rear axle differential lock, enhancing its dynamic performance capabilities.
