Parts For 997 GT2 2007>>

About 997 GT2 2007>>

The 996 GT2 gave way to its successor, the 997.1 GT2, hitting the market in November 2007. Upon its debut, the 997.1 generation Porsche 911 GT2 claimed the throne as the most potent and fastest road-legal 911 ever made available to the public.

The GT2's engine draws from the existing 3.6ltr flat-6 powerplant but incorporates twin variable geometry turbochargers similar to those on the 997 turbo. This setup delivers an astounding maximum power output of 530PS (390kW; 523bhp) at 6,500 rpm and a torque of 680 Nm (502 lb⋅ft) at 2,200 rpm. Distinguishing itself from the 997.1 turbo, the GT2 opts for a rear-wheel-drive layout, shedding weight primarily for GT2 class racing, a tradition carried over from its predecessors. Notable enhancements include a redesigned expansion intake manifold, shorter turbo intake manifolds, and a full titanium exhaust system, all contributing to weight reduction and improved fuel consumption by 15 percent under full throttle compared to the 99.1 turbo.

Performance-wise, the GT2 dashes from 0 to 97 km/h (60 mph) in a blistering 3.6 seconds and to 161 km/h (100 mph) in just 7.4 seconds, boasting a top speed of 329 km/h (204 mph). This milestone makes it the first 911 to break the 200 mph (322 km/h) barrier since the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Race Version, a distinction notable for its mid-mounted engine and distinct shape. Weighing in at 1,440 kg (3,175 lb), the GT2 is exclusively available with a 6-speed manual transmission.

Innovatively, the GT2 claims the title as the first Porsche to feature launch control, further enhancing its performance prowess.

Visually, the GT2 exhibits subtle deviations from its counterpart, the 997.1 turbo. It dispenses with fog lights in the front bumper, opting instead for integrated turn signals in the front air intakes. Additionally, it sports a revised front lip, a larger rear wing with two small air scoops on either side and a distinct rear bumper featuring titanium exhaust pipes.
