Installation instructions
The direct oil feed (DOF) solution uses a patent pending custom made Intermediate Shaft Flange that utilizes a direct oil feed to the original Intermediate Shaft Bearing. It uses an adapted pressure fed oil line from a positive oil pressure feed on the cylinder head directly to an opening in the custom Intermediate Shaft Flange. This feeds fresh oil directly to the open end of the IMS bearing (after removing the seal to expose the ball bearings on the IMS bearing). By using a positive oil feed from the engine's cylinder head valve cover, there will always be a consistent flow of oil directed to the open end of the intermediate shaft bearing.
This is a cost effective way to help protect against a possible IMS bearing failure, using the original bearing. The system, however can also be used when replacing the bearing with a new SKF steel ball bearing for added insurance with a new, zero mile bearing.

CP-Carrillo connecting rods are fully machined from a proprietary 4330m alloy forging for strength and durability. Rods are available with 2 types of bolts: The standard WMC-H7 (H11) bolt with a UTS of 220ksi and our upgraded CARR-S7 (MP35N) bolt with a UTS of 285ksi. The CARR upgraded bolt is a good choice if planning on revving the engine higher than 8500rpm.
All our bolts are manufactured with asymmetrical threads, each thread has a slightly different design than the previous giving the bolts an evenly distributed thread engagement. This helps increasing the clamp load and fatigue life of the fasteners

Wössner are regarded by Europe's leading motor sport engine builders as being the piston of choice when building an engine not only to perform, but to withstand the stresses and duress's of competition life. Wössner pistons feature a unique PTFE coating on the skirts and a grade of 4032 Alloy (T6) which allows the engine builder to run a closer piston to bore tolerance then he might do on another make of piston. This helps remove the slapping noise during cold start, common place among engines running forged pistons due to larger then OE bore clearances. The crowns of the pistons are also polished to better resist detonation on a high performance engine. Polishing allows a more even spread of heat inside the chamber which will help prevent "hot spots" on piston crowns. Price includes all piston rings and gudgeon pins.
Price shown is for complete engine set.

What are the most common Porsche engine issues?
Engine smoke which can be caused by faulty oil separators or overfill of oil. IMS bearing failures can be a common and devastating occurrence for the Porsche 996 between a certain production date. Depending on when detected, this issue may be correctable with the replacement of the IMS, using our handy kit, or if the failure has caused further damage. If more damage has occurred it may require a complete engine rebuild or replacement.
Excessive engine smoke is a sight suitable for any Porsche owners nightmares. Luckily, in many cases, it is no cause for concern. Potentially it could be caused by something as simple as an excessive overfill of oil - A common mistake made by non-Porsche specialist garages.
Another fairly common cause of your engine smoking is an issue with the oil separator. This component separates the air from oil and commonly fails internally. If you begin to see smoke coming from your 996 or 986 it is imperative that you speak to a Porsche specialist!
Do I need to rebuild my engine?
Cover IMS bearing issues timing belt problems, some issues can be avoided with routine car maintenance, such as oil changes, regular checks, some issues may need one specific part, such as exhaust manifold replacement for engines with fumes escaping, some drastic issues require a whole engine to be rebuilt.
Sometimes an engine rebuild is to get things good as new and sometimes it’s to squeeze some extra power under the hood. A diverse range of Porsche’s can benefit from an Porsche engine rebuild, including the 917, 935 and the 962, all air-cooled engine types, right the way through to 997 GT3’s and turbo engines.
