Double-nutting a head stud to install it into the engine case not only takes time, but can be stressful for the threads, and can lead to variations in stud depth (unless you are extra careful when removing the double nuts). Made from black oxide finished hardened steel, this uniquely designed tool threads onto the head stud but will not clamp on to the threads, making installation faster, gentler, and more accurate.
