Softronic ECU Flash Porsche 997.2 Carrera 3.6L Tune 09-11

The 2009 and up Porsche Carrera is a big change over previous models. The new 911 has switched from a Bosch ECU to now running a Siemens SDI system. The transmission can be had in a standard 6 speed manual or the new PDK transmission to complete with the GTR, M3, and others. Softronic has spent time engineering and developing software for the new FSI cars and is one of the only tuners in the world that can offer an ECU flash via the OBDII port. With some additional programming to adjust the cars timing and air fuel mixtures, Softronic is able to gain performance on both the 3.6L and the 3.8L 911.

3.6L Base - 345BHP and 288ft/lbs

3.6L Tuned with Performance Muffler - 375BHP and 316ft/lbs
3.6L Tune Only - 362BHP and 304ft/lbs

Softronic flashes the 997.2 Carrera through the OBDII port of the car. With their Flasher Client software, they are reading a full 1mb of the file to completely tune the ECU. Other companies claim to be able to do this, but are only read 128kb and making global changes. The ECU flash will alter your fuel and timing maps to give you a very linear increase over stock. For those worried about check engine lights, there are none! For those running a high flow cat or straight pipe exhaust systems, Softronic raises the O2 levels which will remove the possibility of having a CEL from this type of exhaust. Once the car is flashed, the low end torque and throttle response will be much improved. The mid-range of the RPM band will feel stronger as well. The overall improvement of drivability makes the 997.2 Carrera even more fun then it was originally. Since warranty is always a concern, Softronic also provides you with your original file. Softronic ECU Flash Porsche 997.2 GT3 2010-12

The 2010 GT3 is one incredible street/track car. As you rev past 2000 rpms, the exquisit sound coming from the back of the car is a like a symphony of horses ready to trample anything in its path. Jumping up from the previous 3.6L GT3, the 997.2 GT3 has a 3.8L engine with a complete dry sump oil system like the 997 Turbo. Most of the engine changes are purely cosmetic and are no different when it comes to tuning the cars computer. Softronic steps in with their fine tuning to focuses on improving the cars power curve. With some additional programming to adjust the cars timing and air fuel mixtures, Softronic is able to gain 20 horsepower to the crank and 21ft/lbs of torque.

The complexity of the maps and tuning of the DFI Turbo is much different then the earlier 997 Turbo. With the stock car making about .7bar of boost, the new flashed file holds a solid 1.0bar of boost. Having made changes to both the fueling and timing tables, we are able to get a safe and reliable increase of power to the car. With their Flasher Client software, Softronic is reading a full 1mb of the file to completely tune the ECU. Other companies claim to be able to do this, but are only read 128kb and making global changes. The ECU flash retains your factory SPORT mode function, but also increases your boost under normal use. For those worried about check engine lights, there are none! Softronic ECU Flash Porsche 997.2 Turbo S 2011-12

Coming from the factory with 530bhp in this Porsche Turbo S, it was already at a new level of quickness. Having tested on our dyno a 2010 Turbo PDK we were familiar with and where the baseline and ECU Flash tune would be approximately. Even though the Turbo S comes from the factory with 30 more horsepower, there is always more room to improve. Where Softronic excels is specific tuning in the 1000′s of maps to make sure the entire RPM range gains safe and reliable horsepower. Softronic had quoted a gain of going from 530bhp to 615bhp from just the flash. Typically the Mustang dyno has a 20-25% drivetrain loss. When running the Turbo in Sport Mode, the vehicles throttle response and low end torque is noticed on both the dyno and street, however based on EGT temps, Sport Mode can usually yield lower mid to top end power.

As a completely stock car, we did tests in both Standard and Sport Mode to show the difference in power gains. What we yielded was a peak of 541awhp and 534ft/lbs of torque with the Softronic flash in Standard Mode. This car actually exceed the typically drivetrain loss showing that the Softronic Flashed Turbo S was actually much stronger then expected. With Sport Mode on and an increase in boost pressure, the car spooled up quicker making peak torque at about 400rpm faster. However this then tapered off earlier as usual with cars in Sport Mode. Sport gave us a peak of 532awhp and 524ft/lbs of torque.

DETAILS:
The EVC I-Drive is a device that increases or decreases the vehicles throttle response depending on the drivers choice.

The unit is programmable so can be used on either manual or automatic cars and has 4 modes.

ULTIMATE MODE – in this setting the throttle response is sped up compared to the factory settings and has a variable range from 0 to 9. This is ideal to deal with any throttle delay some modern vehicles suffer from with electronic throttle control.

ECON MODE – In this setting the throttle response is slowed down compared to factory settings and like ultimate mode has a variable range from 0 – 9.

ADAPTIVE MODE – In this mode the unit learns over time the drivers driving style and adapts the throttle response accordingly. For example if the driver normally drives with force on the throttle pedal the unit will learn this and allow a faster throttle response.

OFF – quite simply the unit doesn't affect the throttle response in this mode and reverts back to standard settings.

This unit works independently from any other modifications the vehicle has so can be fitted with or without any other tuning / economy products you may already have installed.
